Yen Hoa Parish starts construction of new church
(Baonghean.vn) - The new cathedral has started construction on an area of 1,250 m2 (50m x 25m), and is expected to be completed and put into use in the next 2 years.
Yen Hoa Parish, Quynh Vinh Commune, Hoang Mai Town, has just held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new church. Attending were Bishop of Vinh Diocese Alphonso Nguyen Huu Long and many priests and parishioners inside and outside the parish.

Yen Hoa is a parish with a long history of 135 years of formation and development. In the context of increasing religious activities, especially those of associations, the existing church has become cramped.

To meet the conditions for religious activities and worshiping God in a solemn and appropriate manner, the parish decided to start building a new church from funds donated by parishioners and mobilized from benefactors and parishioners living far from home.

Speaking at the groundbreaking mass, Bishop Alphonso Nguyen Huu Long asked the parish priest and parishioners of Yen Hoa Parish to join hands and unite to build and soon put the project into use.
Established in 1884, separated from Cam Truong parish (Quynh Yen commune, Quynh Luu district), Yen Hoa parish currently has 2 sub-parishes (Yen Hoa, Quy Vinh) with about 2,500 parishioners, with Father Phaolo Ho Van Truong as parish priest.
