Yen Hoa Parish begins construction of a new church.
(Baonghean.vn) - The new mosque, constructed on an area of 1,250 m2 (50m x 25m), is expected to be completed and put into use within the next two years.
Yen Hoa Parish, Quynh Vinh Commune, Hoang Mai Town, recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of its new church. Attending the ceremony were Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long of the Vinh Diocese, along with numerous priests and parishioners from within and outside the parish.

Yen Hoa is a parish with a long history, spanning 135 years of formation and development. However, with the increasing number of religious activities, especially those of various associations, the existing church building has become cramped.

To meet the needs of religious life and worship God in a dignified and appropriate manner, the parish decided to begin construction of a new church building using funds donated by parishioners and solicited from benefactors and parishioners living away from home.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Bishop Alphonsus Nguyen Huu Long urged the parish priest and parishioners of Yen Hoa Parish to work together in unity to build and bring the project into use as soon as possible.
Established in 1884, separating from Cam Truong parish (Quynh Yen commune, Quynh Luu district), Yen Hoa parish currently has two sub-parishes (Yen Hoa and Quy Vinh) with approximately 2,500 parishioners, under the parish priest of Father Paul Ho Van Truong.
