11.3 kg of fireworks hidden in a suitcase and carried across the border

(Baonghean.vn) - 11.3 kg of firecrackers hidden in a tourist suitcase were discovered and seized by Muong Phu Border Control Station and Thong Thu Border Post when they just arrived at Thong Thu border gate from the other side of the border.

Accordingly, at 12:30 p.m. on January 17, 2017, while checking and controlling at the border gate, Muong Phu Border Control Station, Thong Thu Border Post discovered and arrested two subjects, Ho Mau An (born in 1978) and Tran Cong Trung (born in 1983), both of whom have permanent residence in Tam Hop commune, Quy Hop district.

Evidence collected at the scene was 11.3 kg of firecrackers originating from Thailand.

Through initial questioning, the two subjects confessed to buying a quantity of firecrackers from across the border and hiding them in a suitcase containing clothes for use during Tet.

Currently, Thong Thu Border Guard Station has completed the file to hand over the subject and evidence to the authorities for handling./.
