(Baonghean.vn) - 11.3 kg of firecrackers hidden in a travel suitcase were discovered and seized by the Muong Phu Border Guard checkpoint, Thong Thu Border Guard Post, upon arrival at the Thong Thu border gate from across the border.

Accordingly, at 12:30 PM on January 17, 2017, during a border control inspection at the Muong Phu Border Guard checkpoint, the Thong Thu Border Guard Post discovered and arrested two individuals, Ho Mau An (born in 1978) and Tran Cong Trung (born in 1983), both of whom have permanent residence in Tam Hop commune, Quy Hop district.

The evidence seized at the scene included 11.3 kg of fireworks originating from Thailand.

During initial questioning, the two suspects confessed to buying the fireworks across the border and hiding them in suitcases containing clothes for use during Tet (Lunar New Year).

The Thong Thu Border Guard Post has now completed the handover of the suspect and evidence to the relevant authorities for processing.
