Early this morning (November 8th), a cold front affected most of the Northeast and some areas of the Northwest. In the Gulf of Tonkin, strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 8, were observed.

Forecast: Today and tonight, the cold air mass will continue to affect other areas in Northern Vietnam and North Central Vietnam, then extend to Central Vietnam.

This morning (November 8th), some areas in Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa experienced showers and thunderstorms; the weather will clear up tomorrow (November 9th). Today, the area from Nghe An to Quang Tri experienced moderate to heavy rain, with some places experiencing very heavy rain and thunderstorms. From today (November 8th) to November 11th, due to the influence of a cold front combined with disturbances in the upper easterly wind zone, the area from Thua Thien Hue to Khanh Hoa will experience moderate to heavy rain, with some places experiencing very heavy rain and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. There is a risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas and localized flooding in low-lying areas and along rivers.
In Northern Vietnam and North Central Vietnam, the weather will turn cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold with lowest temperatures of 15-18 degrees Celsius, 12-15 degrees Celsius in mountainous areas, and below 8 degrees Celsius in high mountainous areas; from around the night of November 12th, the lowest temperatures may drop further.
Winds will shift to the Northeast direction inland at level 3, and along the coast at levels 4-5; in the Gulf of Tonkin, strong Northeast winds will reach level 7, sometimes level 8, with gusts up to level 9, causing rough seas with waves 2.0-4.0m high; in the sea area from Quang Tri to Thua Thien Hue, strong Northeast winds will gradually increase to level 6, with gusts up to level 7, causing rough seas with waves 2.0-3.0m high; in the Northern East Sea (including the Hoang Sa archipelago), strong Northeast winds will reach level 6, sometimes level 7, with gusts up to level 8, causing rough seas with waves 3.0-5.0m high.
Hanoi area: Early this morning (November 8th), there were occasional showers; from tomorrow (November 9th), the weather will clear up. The weather will turn cold with the lowest temperatures generally ranging from 15-18 degrees Celsius; from around the night of November 12th, the lowest temperatures may drop further.
