The northeast monsoon has arrived, bringing cold and rainy weather to the North.

Due to the influence of a cold front, the North will experience rain, with some areas having moderate to heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms; the coastal provinces of the North and Central Central regions will have rain, moderate rain, with some areas having heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, hailstorms, lightning, and strong gusts of wind. Winds inland will shift to northeasterly at level 2-3, and level 3-4 in coastal areas.

From noon and afternoon today, the northern mountainous and midland provinces will experience cold weather, while the plains will be cold at night. The lowest temperatures in the plains will generally be 16-18°C, in the mountains 13-16°C, and in high mountainous areas below 10°C. Hanoi will have rain and showers, and from tonight onwards, the weather will be cold with the lowest temperatures generally 16-18°C.

From this afternoon, in the Gulf of Tonkin and the northern South China Sea (including the waters around the Hoang Sa archipelago), the northeast wind will gradually strengthen to level 6, sometimes level 7, with gusts of level 8-9; the sea will be rough. Wave height will be 2.0-3.0m. Disaster risk level: level 1.
