| A series of excellent books about children with autism is about to be released to readers nationwide. |
The story is about a boy named Hikaru. Like any other child, Hikaru was born into the love and hope of his parents. But from the moment he was born, he showed unusual symptoms: he didn't want to be held or cuddled, his sleep was disturbed, and he cried constantly...
Hikaru's mother was shocked when the doctor diagnosed him with autism. Not only did she not receive understanding from her husband and his family, but she also faced criticism and accusations about her parenting methods, such as letting him watch television and feed him processed food. Her family happiness was on the verge of collapse.
But it was her boundless love for her child that gave this frail mother the strength to fight against a syndrome that was neither scientifically explained nor understood by the community.
Admiring her willpower, her family, neighbors, and teachers gradually became more aware of autism, empathizing with and sharing with people with autism, thereby building a more autistic-friendly society.
The comic series "Walking with the Light" not only realistically portrays the life of a family with an autistic member, but also seamlessly incorporates knowledge about autism and early intervention methods for autistic children. Each dialogue and each panel contains words of encouragement, comfort, shared anxieties, and hope.
"Walking with the Light" earned Keiko Tobe the Excellence Award at the Japan Media Arts Festival.
The 15-volume comic series will be published by Kim Dong Publishing House in 3 batches, with 5 volumes in each batch, nationwide.
