The TBR97 rice variety is creating a miracle in the fields after the storms.
For the 2025 Summer-Autumn crop season, Sia 2 Agricultural Cooperative (Quang Dien district, Thua Thien Hue province) sowed 15 hectares of TBR97 rice variety with high expectations. However, just 17 days later (from May 30th to June 16th), Typhoon No. 1 made landfall, causing prolonged heavy rain that submerged the entire area in floodwaters for 6 consecutive days.
Normally, newly sown rice, if flooded for an extended period, almost certainly needs to be replanted. The fear of crop failure permeates the fields. But reality has proven the exceptional resilience of the TBR97 variety: as soon as the water recedes, the rice quickly takes root, recovers strongly, and grows uniformly green, dispelling concerns about damage.

Furthermore, during the heading and flowering stage, the rice fields continued to face a strong outbreak of leaf-rolling caterpillars. However, the TBR97 rice variety maintained its superior resistance, significantly limiting damage from pests and diseases, and maintaining stable growth.
After 90 challenging days, the TBR97 rice plants are bearing abundant grains, bringing great joy to the farmers. The harvest yield reached 350-370 kg/500 m², equivalent to 70-75 quintals/hectare, a very impressive figure given the continuous natural disasters and pest outbreaks.

From initial anxiety, the farmers of Sia 2 can now smile at the results. This year's summer-autumn rice crop not only yielded a high harvest but also instilled strong confidence in the adaptability and resilience of the TBR97 rice variety.

The TBR97 rice variety not only demonstrates its superior yield but also clearly proves its resilience and endurance in harsh conditions, helping farmers feel more secure in the face of climate change and pests in the fields.
Not only in Hue city, the TBR97 rice variety from ThaiBinh Seed has shown high efficiency in many provinces and cities such as Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, some provinces in Central Vietnam, and the Central Highlands. The TBR97 rice variety tolerates intensive cultivation, has strong tillering, sturdy stems, moderate plant height, and a high percentage of filled panicles, making it suitable for both cropping seasons per year. In particular, the TBR97 variety is resistant to heat and lodging, making it very suitable for the summer-autumn crop. The TBR97 rice variety is less susceptible to pests and diseases and requires very little pesticide use.
