Giroud scores in the final minute as Arsenal come from behind to win in the FA Cup.
A 90th-minute goal from the French striker helped Arsenal beat Championship side Preston North End 2-1 in the third round of the FA Cup.
This was Olivier Giroud's fourth consecutive match in which he scored. The 30-year-old striker's timely goals have often saved his team from conceding setbacks, and this match was no exception.
Preston North End opened the scoring in the seventh minute through Callum Robinson. Arsenal's left-back Nacho Monreal was out of position, allowing striker Jordan Hugill to receive a through ball inside the box, creating a scramble before the ball reached Robinson in a favorable position to finish.

After scoring the opening goal, the Championship side continued to create chances that kept goalkeeper David Ospina busy. In the 40th minute, Arsenal fans held their breath when Robinson scored his second goal against Ospina. However, the referee disallowed a foul on Paul Huntington for an earlier aerial challenge with Ospina. According to former BBC commentator Robbie Savage, Huntington did not commit a foul and Preston North End were denied a legitimate goal.
For Arsenal, after several missed opportunities, Aaron Ramsey scored the equalizer early in the second half. It was a powerful right-footed shot from the Welsh midfielder from just outside the penalty area, leaving the home goalkeeper rooted to the spot. Prior to that, Alex Iwobi had skillfully turned inside the box before passing to Ramsey.

In the 77th minute, Giroud had a goal disallowed. However, the French striker was clearly offside in this situation. In the 89th minute, Giroud headed the ball down to Lucas Perez, then received a backheel pass from his teammate to score. This well-coordinated play between the two Arsenal players helped their team avoid a draw.
This was Arsene Wenger's 21st victory in 21 appearances in the FA Cup third round under his management. However, the London team's defense was disappointing, especially in the first half. In their Premier League match four days ago against Bournemouth, Arsenal also fell behind 0-3 due to defensive errors before eventually drawing 3-3.
