To contribute to the people of the highlands in celebrating the great national holiday, Border Guard units have intensified their efforts since August to maintain security and peace along the border before, during, and after the ceremony.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Dinh Vien, Commander of the Muong Ai Border Guard Station, said that the unit manages and protects over 51 km of border, 9 border markers, and 5 pairs of boundary posts; and manages the Muong Tip commune area, comprising 15 villages with over 6,400 inhabitants. People in the highland communes of Nghe An province have a tradition of organizing activities to celebrate Independence Day every year on the occasion of the National Day on September 2nd. During this time, the unit maintains a strict combat readiness duty; organizes comprehensive border and boundary marker patrols; and deploys personnel to monitor the local situation so that the people can celebrate the nation's major holidays peacefully and joyfully.
