Suspicious packages sent to a series of US military and intelligence bases
NBC reported on March 27 that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is verifying the origin of suspicious packages sent to a series of US military and intelligence bases.
The National Defense University, located on the campus of Fort McNair military base in Washington, DC, received a package at around 8:30 a.m. on March 26 (local time), forcing the entire building to be evacuated. Inside the package were explosives, a tracking device, and a fuse.

On the same day, similar packages were sent to the Anacostia-Bolling base in Washington DC, Fort Belvoir and Dahlgren in Virginia, as well as the White House and CIA mail processing units.
Some of the packages included letters containing profanity. None were detonated and were later disposed of safely. FBI agents are investigating whether the packages are related.
