Contribute capital to hire foreign countries to counterfeit Ariston and AMTs brand products

Knowing that AMTs and Ariston brand water heater thermostats were selling well on the market, the two subjects ordered counterfeit products from China to bring to Vietnam for consumption.

On November 7, Lieutenant Colonel Thanh Kien Trung, Deputy Head of the Economic Police Department - Hanoi City Police, said that he had executed an emergency arrest warrant and decided to temporarily detain Do Van Dat (28 years old) and Do Van Hoang (27 years old - Dat's cousin), residing at the same address: Ngoc Hoi commune, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi City, for the act of "producing and trading counterfeit goods".

Previously, on November 6 and 7, the Anti-smuggling and Prohibited Goods Trading Team of this department discovered that Dat was transporting 1,000 AMTs brand water heater thermostats and 700 Ariston brand water heater thermostats, all of which were counterfeit goods.

Through investigation, it was determined that Dat used to be a salesman of Minh Tuan Construction Materials Trading Joint Stock Company (owner of the AMTs brand). Knowing that the AMTs and Ariston branded water heater thermostats were selling well on the market, Dat and Hoang invested together to order counterfeit products from Dong Hung - China to bring to Vietnam.

Counterfeit products were seized.

Then, Dat and Hoang ordered the printing of fake packaging with the trademarks of AMTs and Ariston to sell. The representative of the owners of the trademarks Ariston and AMTs determined that the goods that Dat and Hoang sold to the market were counterfeit.

The Hanoi Police Investigation Agency searched Dat's residence and seized thousands of sanitary equipment components made in China without invoices or documents proving their origin, including AMTs brand water heater thermostats; 40 kg of product packaging and 2 product packaging machines.

This incident also warns consumers to choose reputable retailers to avoid buying counterfeit goods. Because for this item, if using counterfeit goods will cause fire, short circuit, electric leakage which is very dangerous to human life.
