Comments on the Project for the Preservation and Promotion of Folk Performing Arts of Ethnic Minorities in Nghe An Province, giai đoạn 2026 - 2030
On the morning of January 13th, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a meeting to approve the draft Project "Preservation and Promotion of Folk Performing Arts of Ethnic Minorities in Nghe An Province giai đoạn 2026 - 2030" along with several contents in the field of culture. Regarding this Project, the delegates participating in the meeting suggested that further review and additions are needed.
Attending the meeting were Comrade Thai Van Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Comrade Tran Thi My Hanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with representatives from relevant departments and agencies.

At the meeting, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism presented the draft plan, affirming that folk performing arts of ethnic minorities are an important part of Nghe An's cultural identity, and need to be preserved, disseminated, transmitted, and promoted, especially traditional folk songs, folk dances, and folk music.
The delegates agreed that the development of the Project is necessary in the context of many traditional cultural values facing the risk of disappearing. However, at the meeting, opinions suggested that the content of preserving and promoting folk performing arts should be integrated into the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; and combined with tourism development and included in the curriculum of ethnic boarding schools. The delegates also noted the need to review and avoid duplication with existing recurrent expenditure tasks and national target programs.

Concluding this discussion, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Van Thanh requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to incorporate the feedback and finalize the Project Proposal in the direction of implementing it as a component project under the National Target Program, ensuring feasibility and effectiveness.
Also at the meeting, delegates commented on the Plan for implementing Conclusion No. 156-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that the plan needs to clearly define specific tasks, solutions, and products, avoiding vagueness. The meeting also considered the draft decision on decentralizing the authority to issue, adjust, and revoke licenses for karaoke and dance hall businesses in the province.
