Comments on the draft revised Social Insurance Law
(Baonghean.vn) - Through activities aimed at understanding the implementation of social insurance policies and laws in the province, the staff of the Nghe An Provincial Trade Union have contributed many opinions to the draft amended Social Insurance Law.
On the afternoon of September 21st, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation held a conference to survey the implementation of social insurance policies and laws in Nghe An province and to gather opinions on the draft amended Social Insurance Law.

Attending the event were members of the National Assembly Delegation's survey team, leaders and departments of the Provincial Labor Union, and representatives of the Labor Unions of several districts and sectors. Ms. Thai Thi An Chung - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation's Standing Committee and Mr. Kha Van Tam - President of the Provincial Labor Union co-chaired the meeting.
This event, conducted by the National Assembly Delegation, aims to survey and assess the implementation of social insurance policies and laws in the province over the past period, identify existing shortcomings, inadequacies, difficulties, and obstacles, and based on that, propose solutions to further improve policies and contribute to the draft Law on Social Insurance (amended) to be submitted to the 15th National Assembly for consideration and comments at the upcoming session. The survey period covers from January 1, 2021 to June 30, 2023.

At the conference, delegates heard about the results of the Trade Union's participation in the implementation of policies and laws on social insurance.In Nghe An province during the period 2021-2023, the Nghe An Trade Union played a crucial role in disseminating information and promoting policies and laws on social insurance to workers. From 2021 to 2023, the Nghe An Trade Union organized 16 mobile outreach programs for over 3,500 workers, provided consultations via the trade union's television channel, and conducted hotline consultations for over 200 workers annually on topics related to the Labor Code and social insurance.
To protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers participating in social insurance, provincial trade union branches have implemented many activities such as coordinating with social insurance agencies to find solutions and provide legal support to workers with outstanding social insurance debts; participating in inspections of social insurance contributions at 35 enterprises with large, long-standing debts; and chairing conferences to resolve benefits for commune and ward medical staff participating in epidemic control...

In addition, trade union levels also require employers and social insurance agencies to provide information on employees' social insurance, and cooperate with social insurance agencies to inspect and monitor the implementation of legal regulations on social insurance. The Provincial Federation of Labor has coordinated with competent authorities to resolve 05 social insurance complaints and initiated lawsuits against violations of social insurance laws.
At the conference, delegates shared experiences in implementing social insurance and offered many suggestions for the draft revised Social Insurance Law related to several issues such as: handling violations of the Social Insurance Law, expanding the scope of social insurance participation, and receiving lump-sum social insurance benefits.retirement age...

During the conference, Comrade Kha Van Tam also offered many heartfelt suggestions for the draft law, and stated that the LawSocial insuranceIt is necessary to clarify that the proposed amendments to the law should not diminish or eliminate the social insurance benefits that workers are currently entitled to.
Concluding the conference, Ms. Thai Thi An Chung highly appreciated the coordination and organization of the conference by the Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor, as well as the role of the Trade Union in implementing policies and laws on social insurance. Recognizing that policies surrounding social insurance are extremely important and directly related to workers, Ms. Thai Thi An Chung requested greater attention to this issue, further promoting the role of protecting workers' rights, especially within the business environment, and expressed her hope that the Trade Union would be more proactive in coordinating activities in the future.
