The beauty queen's family agreed that she should use her prize money for charity and to contribute to the activities of her village.

H'Hen Niê recently enjoyed a warm and relaxing week-long Lunar New Year holiday with family, relatives, and friends. This is the second time the beauty queen has returned to her hometown since winning Miss Universe Vietnam 2017. Last time, she only managed to stay for two nights due to a packed schedule, leaving her with little time to rest.Chat and greet people.

Before H'Hen Niê left Saigon, her mother advised her not to buy anything for the family because she was worried about the expense. Her parents and siblings all wanted her to use the prize money after winning the beauty pageant for charity. "Our family isn't wealthy, but we're not lacking anything either. She just won the beauty pageant, so she has a lot to do. Later, if she gets a job and earns more money, our parents will accept her help," her younger sister shared.

The beauty queen wore an ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) for a photoshoot on the first day of the Lunar New Year.

H'Hen Niê is happy that her family always supports her aspirations. "Many people think that being a beauty queen must make you very rich, but the truth is that my life and my family's life remain the same. But I'm sure in the coming years, I will be able to repay my parents more," she said. The only valuable gift she brought home for her mother was a string of pearls she received as a gift.

Besides spending quality time with her family, the beauty queen also attended local festivals such as traditional boat races. Instead of dining at fancy restaurants or cafes, her Tet holiday meal remained simple, just like in previous years, with traditional dishes such as beans, bitter gourd soup, cassava leaves, and grilled dried fish.

H'Hen Niê shared that Tet in the Central Highlands isn't much different from the city, but the Ede people celebrate Tet more simply. The amount of lucky money given is only from 2,000 to 5,000 VND, but everyone is happy. She also participates in traditional family activities such as making banh chung (traditional rice cakes), cleaning the house, and visiting ancestral graves at the end of the year...
