After the first three episodes of The Face, each coach has developed a fairly distinct style of coaching their contestants.

Even before airing, the Vietnamese version of The Face received considerable attention and heated debate, as it brought together three coaches: singer Ho Ngoc Ha, Miss Universe Vietnam 2015 Pham Huong, and Miss Ao Dai Lan Khue.

The first episode, which aired on the evening of June 18th, attracted attention with the performance of the three beauties. Contrary to their usual friendly and gentle demeanor in public, all three displayed sharp wit, eloquence, and didn't hesitate to "attack" each other to win over potential candidates for their teams. Even with senior contestant Ha Ho, Pham Huong didn't hold back, asserting twice: "You better watch out, I'm just kidding."

With Lan Khuê, Phạm Hương was even less afraid to "criticize." She bluntly said, "Lan Khuê seems to want to show off to the contestants too early." Phạm Hương continuously teased her "rival" by interrupting, causing Lan Khuê to lose focus while trying to recruit contestants (see video). To the point that the Miss Ao Dai 2015 winner had to remind Phạm Hương three times: "Don't interrupt me." In episode three, when she saw Lan Khuê's contestant posing too much during the photoshoot segment based on the brand's message, Phạm Hương subtly reminded her with a displeased expression. In response, Lan Khuê argued that Phạm Hương was sometimes overly confident, making others tired. The back-and-forth between the two beauties prompted Hà Hồ to comment: "Phạm Hương and Lan Khuê are no longer Misses."

Ho Ngoc Ha is the calmest of the three coaches. She rarely argues with the other two. In the first episode, the beauty clearly demonstrated her "soft power" by not competing for contestants, yet the contestants still voluntarily joined her team. When necessary, the singer did not hesitate to criticize Pham Huong's rigid coaching style, citing a specific example: "Huong can't force the contestants to pose or walk like her. Pham Huong may have very beautiful walks that suit her body, but they may not suit the contestants." According to Ho Ngoc Ha, Pham Huong needs more experience in coaching contestants. Meanwhile, the singer seems to like Lan Khue's innocent, sometimes quirky personality. She often laughs loudly or claps to express her liking.

Ha Ho has repeatedly supported Lan Khue's views while sitting on the "hot seat".

For the contestants, all three coaches demonstrated a demanding and strict approach to training.

In episode two, Pham Huong warned Diep Linh Chau about her undisciplined behavior. While other contestants arrived on time to prepare for the catwalk challenge, the stylist, born in 1994, was half an hour late because her alarm clock didn't ring. Upon seeing the contestant, Pham Huong said: "The first rule showing you respect everyone is to be on time. If I see you arriving later than everyone else again next time, I have the right to eliminate you from the team." Sharing her approach to coaching, the Miss Universe Vietnam 2015 winner said: "I'm not overly harsh with the contestants; I just want them to see it as a challenge they need to overcome."

The peak of Pham Huong's strictness came in episode three, when she instructed the contestants in a photoshoot challenge with a brand message. She yelled at the contestants: "Don't turn your face that way, what will people see of you?", "Your face looks like you're sleepy, wake up!", "You can't get a good picture with your hand like that"... This made guest judge – Miss Mai Phuong Thuy – exclaim, "Oh my god, that's scary!".

Like Pham Huong, Lan Khue also showed her strictness in her role as a coach on The Face. When Quynh Mai spontaneously skipped practice without giving a reason, Lan Khue warned the former contestant who had reached the final round of Asia's Next Top Model. Lan Khue's behavior led Ho Ngoc Ha to jokingly say she was too strict, while Mai Phuong Thuy commented: "You seem too demanding." In response, the Miss Ao Dai winner explained: "That's how I am at work, but outside of work, I can be whatever I want."

Pham Huong is the strict teacher, Ha Ho is the calmest, while Lan Khue is loved for her straightforwardness.

In contrast, Lan Khuê's straightforward and innocent nature often created moments of relaxed laughter amidst the tense atmosphere. When Hà Hồ and Phạm Hương subtly reminded her about allowing contestants to take photos for longer than the allotted time, Lan Khuê calmly told the contestants to go down, causing the audience to burst into laughter. Lan Khuê also won the contestants' affection with her strong professional skills. In episode one, she reminded contestants to express happiness through their eyes, not just their smiles. This earned her high praise from Hà Hồ, her fellow contestant.

With her professional style, extensive expertise, and experience participating in many reality shows, Ha Ho demonstrates composure when imparting knowledge and demonstrating techniques to the contestants (see video). She shared that she doesn't want to impose her will but rather bases her teaching methods on the strengths and weaknesses of each girl to provide suitable guidance.

While generally gentle in her speech, this coach proved decisive when making decisions about which contestants would be in the elimination round in episode three. Hà Hồ meticulously analyzed each contestant's strengths and weaknesses in the challenge before making her final decision to ensure fairness. In episode three, the singer chose Chúng Huyền Thanh for the elimination round, even though she was highly rated among all the contestants. Only when Chúng Huyền Thanh was saved did Hà Hồ break down in tears and remind her student: "You're lucky this time! If it happens again, I won't wait any longer!" Such details helped her win over fans and build an image of a refined, approachable coach who speaks with both empathy and reason.

Through the first three episodes of The Face, the personalities of the coaches have become clear. The competition among the young women is expected to be even more dramatic and full of surprises as the challenges they face become increasingly difficult.
