Ha Ho is gentle, Pham Huong and Lan Khue are fierce on the 'hot' seat

After the first three episodes of The Face, each coach has formed a fairly distinct style of teaching their contestants.

The Vietnamese version of The Face has received attention and heated debate since it first aired when it gathered three coaches, including singer Ho Ngoc Ha, Miss Universe Vietnam 2015 Pham Huong and Ao Dai Beauty Queen Lan Khue.

The first episode aired on the evening of June 18 attracted attention with the performance of the three beauties. In contrast to the friendliness and gentleness usually seen when appearing in public, all three showed sharpness, eloquence and did not hesitate to "cut" each other to win potential faces for the team. With her senior Ha Ho, Pham Huong also did not hold back and affirmed twice: "You just have to watch out for me."

With Lan Khue, Pham Huong is not afraid to "touch". She bluntly said: "Lan Khue seems to want to show herself to the contestants too soon". In episode three, when she saw Lan Khue's contestant posing too much in the photo shoot according to the brand's message, Pham Huong immediately reminded her with a displeased look. In response, Lan Khue said that Pham Huong was sometimes too confident, making others tired. The tug of war between the two beauties made Ha Ho speak up: "Pham Huong and Lan Khue are no longer Misses".

Ha Ho is the calmest of the three coaches. She rarely argues with the other two. In episode one, the beauty clearly demonstrated her "soft power" when she did not fight but the contestants still voluntarily joined her team. When necessary, the female singer did not hesitate to criticize Pham Huong's rigid training method with specific evidence: "Huong cannot force the contestants to pose and walk like her. Pham Huong may have very beautiful steps that suit her body but are not suitable for the contestants." According to Ho Ngoc Ha, Pham Huong needs more experience in training contestants. Meanwhile, the female singer seems to like Lan Khue's innocence and sometimes "craziness". She often laughs loudly or claps her hands to express her love.

In episode two, Pham Huong spoke up to warn Diep Linh Chau about her undisciplined behavior. While the other contestants were all on time to prepare for the catwalk, the stylist born in 1994 arrived half an hour late, saying that her alarm clock had not rung. As soon as she saw the contestant appear, Pham Huong spoke up: "The first rule that shows you respect everyone is to be on time. If next time I see you appear later than everyone else, I have the right to remove you from the team." Sharing about her teaching method, Miss Universe Vietnam 2015 said: "I am not too harsh with the contestants, I just want them to see it as a challenge that they need to overcome themselves."

The peak of Pham Huong's strictness was in episode three, when she instructed the contestants in the challenge of taking photos with the brand's message. She shouted at the contestants: "Don't turn your face in that direction, what will people see about you?", "Your face looks like you're sleepy, wake up", "You can't have a good photo with your hands like that"... This made the guest judge - Miss Mai Phuong Thuy - exclaim "Oh my, so scary!".

Like Pham Huong, Lan Khue also showed her strictness in her role as a coach at The Face. When Quynh Mai suddenly stopped practicing without giving a reason, Lan Khue warned the former contestant who had entered the final round of Asia's Next Top Model. Lan Khue's performance made Ho Ngoc Ha half-jokingly say she was too fierce, while Mai Phuong Thuy commented: "You seem too picky." In response, the Ao Dai beauty explained: "I'm like that when I'm at work, and I don't care how I am outside."

Pham Huong is a strict teacher, Ha Ho is the calmest while Lan Khue is loved for her straightforwardness.

In return, Lan Khue's frankness and innocence often created relaxing laughter in the tense atmosphere. When Ha Ho and Pham Huong gently reminded the contestant for taking photos longer than the allotted time, Lan Khue calmly told the contestant to go down, making the audience unable to hold back their laughter. Lan Khue also won the hearts of the contestants thanks to her good skills. In episode one, she reminded the contestant to express happiness with her eyes, not just with her smile. This made Ha Ho appreciate her colleague.

For Ha Ho, her professional style, extensive expertise and experience in many reality shows help her to be calm when imparting knowledge and demonstrating to the contestants (watch video). She shared that she does not want to impose but rather rely on the strengths and weaknesses of each girl to come up with appropriate teaching methods.

Although quite gentle in her way of speaking, this coach was decisive when deciding to select contestants for the danger round in episode three. Ha Ho analyzed in detail the achievements and failures of each contestant in the challenge before making the final decision to ensure fairness. In episode three, the female singer chose Chung Huyen Thanh for the danger round even though she was highly rated among all the contestants on the show. When Chung Huyen Thanh was kept, Ha Ho burst into tears and reminded her student: "You're lucky this time! If you do that again, I won't wait any longer!" Details like that help her convince her fans and build the image of a delicate, approachable coach who speaks with emotion and reason.
