Hanoi conducts trial runs of open-top double-decker buses.
According to the Hanoi Transport Corporation, at 9:00 AM on June 30th, Hanoi will conduct trial runs of double-decker buses around the city's famous tourist areas.
The first double-decker bus, named City Tour, will begin its trial run tomorrow morning. The planned route includes the Hanoi Opera House, the Temple of Literature, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and Hanoi's Old Quarter.
On the afternoon of June 29th, speaking with Zing.vn, Mr. Nguyen Cong Nhat, Deputy General Director of Hanoi Transport Corporation (Hanoi Trancerco), stated that during the trial run, the company only tested one vehicle to gather feedback from the public.
A double-decker bus model for tourism will be implemented in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. It is expected that this mode of transportation will be officially put into operation within the next two months.

"The city's policy is to develop open-top double-decker buses to reduce traffic congestion and better serve tourists. Tomorrow morning, we will conduct a trial run starting from the Grand Theatre," Mr. Nhat said.
At the end of 2016, the Ministry of Transport issued a document requesting the People's Committees of six provinces and cities, including Hanoi, to pilot double-decker buses for tourism purposes. Accordingly, seven provinces and cities will pilot double-decker buses: Hanoi, Quang Nam, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Lam Dong, and Kien Giang.
