Hanoi spends nearly 2 billion VND to pay 20 people laid off due to downsizing.

The Hanoi People's Committee has just issued a decision approving the list and budget for downsizing the workforce (in 2015 and the first phase of 2016) of Hanoi city in accordance with Government Decree No. 108/2014/ND-CP, dated November 20, 2014.

Accordingly, the Hanoi People's Committee approved the list and budget of VND 1,846,504,000 to pay 20 civil servants and public employees who are retiring under the downsizing scheme as stipulated in Government Decree No. 108/2014/ND-CP dated November 20, 2014.

The funding is sourced from the city's 2016 salary reform budget of VND 1,839,949,000. The remaining funds, including VND 6,555,000, are from the autonomous budget allocated by Decision No. 6788/QD-UBND dated December 10, 2015, of the City People's Committee and other legitimate funding sources of the unit.

The People's Committee of Hanoi City assigns the People's Committees of the districts of Dong Da, Tay Ho, Hoan Kiem, Thuong Tin, Phuc Tho, Gia Lam, Me Linh, and Soc Son to receive the supplementary city budget funds and disburse them to civil servants and public employees according to the regulations and policies stipulated in Government Decree No. 108/2014/ND-CP dated November 20, 2014; and to settle and account for the funds in accordance with State regulations.
