Hanoi proposes recognition of four more intangible cultural heritage sites.
The Hanoi People's Committee has submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requesting recognition of four scientific dossiers on intangible cultural heritage of the city.
The four dossiers proposed by Hanoi this time are: Ai Lao singing and dancing in Hoi Xa village, Phuc Loi ward, Long Bien district; Luu Xa communal house festival in Hoa Chinh commune, Chuong My district; Dong Cuu embroidery restoration craft in Dung Tien commune, Thuong Tin district; and Chem communal house festival in Thuy Phuong ward, Bac Tu Liem district. Among these, Ai Lao singing and dancing is an important ritual that only takes place at the Giong festival in Phu Dong village, Phu Dong commune, Gia Lam district, Hanoi. This is a unique folk art, with lyrics following a special rhythm, possessing high humanistic value and embodying the nation's aspiration for peace.

These intangible cultural heritages are considered to have a profound influence on the cultural and religious life of a large number of local people.
The proposal to recognize four scientific dossiers on intangible cultural heritage of the capital city in the national list of intangible cultural heritage is of great significance, contributing to the sustainable preservation and promotion of the cultural values of Thang Long - Hanoi.
