HAGL and the haunting at the 'fire pan of Vinh city'

The mountain town team hopes that coach Lee Tae-hoon will help solve the problem of SLNA's nemesis at Vinh Stadium in round 13 of V-League 2019 this afternoon (June 16).

Since Lee Tae-hoon replaced his predecessor Duong Minh Ninh, HAGL has played more flexibly. They can take the initiative to attack first, as when they beat Viettel 3-0, or play defensively to draw 0-0 with defending champion Hanoi at home. Thanks to that improvement, the team from the mountain town currently has 15 points to rank 9th, not being caught up in the difficult relegation race like in recent seasons.
But despite that improvement, HAGL is still very cautious when visiting SLNA today. Vinh Stadium is a place where "it's easy to go, but hard to return" for the team of Mr. Doan Nguyen Duc. In the past 15 years, HAGL has only had 1 victory at Vinh Stadium, while losing 10 times. In fact, in the last 5 seasons, they have only scored 1 goal at Vinh Stadium.

Văn Toàn (áo trắng) đang là chân sút nội tốt nhất của HAGL với năm bàn thắng, trong khi Văn Đức (áo vàng) vẫn đang vật lộn với nỗi ám ảnh chấn thương.
Van Toan (white shirt) is currently HAGL's best domestic striker with 5 goals, while Van Duc (yellow shirt) is still struggling with the fear of injury.
"SLNA always play extremely difficult at home. Their strongest point is their solid defense," HAGL defender Nguyen Van Thanh shared before the most anticipated match in round 13 of V-League 2019 today. Van Thanh has fully recovered from his injury and will likely be given a starting position by coach Lee Tae-hoon when he visits SLNA. This could help the mountain town team be sharper in scoring goals, as the Hai Duong defender is very strong in attacking moves. HAGL is currently the third best attacking team in V-League with 19 goals, behind only Hanoi (24 goals) and Thanh Hoa (21 goals).
Fans are also eagerly awaiting the direct confrontation between Van Thanh and Xuan Manh, the duo who shone in the U23 Asian Cup finals, helping Vietnam win the Silver Medal. Coach Nguyen Duc Thang said that Xuan Manh's recovery from injury in the last few rounds has given him peace of mind about SLNA's right wing.
SLNA is the team with the best defense in V-League 2019 with only 9 goals conceded after 12 matches. However, coach Nguyen Duc Thang's team still cannot fly high due to a poor attack. They are heavily dependent on Olaha and have only scored 10 goals when the first leg of V-League 2019 is about to end.
SLNA hoped that Phan Van Duc's return would help their attack improve. However, the midfielder suddenly suffered a relapse of his injury when he was about to return, and according to coach Nguyen Duc Thang, Van Duc will definitely not be present when the team meets HAGL. This entire season, the hero of U23 Vietnam in Changzhou has only played in one match on the opening day of the season.
