Two individuals have been charged with producing counterfeit coffee.
Following a surprise administrative inspection at a coffee production and processing facility and the expert analysis of samples by the competent authority, two individuals have been brought into criminal proceedings on charges of "Producing and trading counterfeit food products."
On the afternoon of March 19, the Investigation Police Department of Khanh Hoa province announced that it had served the indictment decision for the crime of "Producing and trading counterfeit food products" against Nguyen Trung Luan (born in 1971) and Vo Thi Ngoc Anh (born in 1974, both residing in Phan Rang ward, Khanh Hoa province).

Previously, on February 10th, a task force from the Economic Police Department of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police conducted a surprise administrative inspection of a coffee production facility run by Luan and Anh. During this inspection, the task force seized and sealed four samples of coffee products processed and supplied to the market for testing to determine their content and quality.
To date, the Investigation Police Department of Khanh Hoa province has received a document from the Institute of Criminal Science of the Ministry of Public Security concluding that in the 4 samples seized and submitted for examination, 3 samples had caffeine levels below 70% of the amount stated on the packaging.

Based on the investigation results and expert opinions mentioned above, the Criminal Investigation Agency of Khanh Hoa Provincial Police has issued a decision to initiate a criminal case, prosecute the two suspects, and apply a preventive measure of a travel ban.
The Investigation Police Department of Khanh Hoa province is continuing to investigate and clarify the criminal acts of the two aforementioned individuals in order to handle them strictly in accordance with the law.
