| The 23-year-old beauty graduated with a degree in business administration from North-West University. She is fluent in two languages, English and Afrikaans. Throughout the Miss Universe competition, she impressed the judges with her intelligence and strong personality. In particular, she consistently addressed issues of women's rights and gender equality. |

| Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters always exudes a youthful, energetic, and vibrant appearance. She currently lives in New York (USA) to fulfill her duties as a beauty queen. In December, she will crown her successor in Thailand. |
| Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters' rival for the title of most beautiful woman of 2017 is the reigning Miss World, Manushi Chhillar. Compared to when she was first crowned, the 1997-born beauty is considered to have become even more beautiful. The Indian beauty's Instagram account has attracted over 4 million followers. |
| During the Miss World final, when asked which profession should receive the highest salary and why, Manushi impressed everyone with her answer: "Motherhood is a role that should always be respected. This isn't just about money; I want to say we should give the greatest love and respect to mothers around the world." |
| In July of this year, Manushi, along with two former Miss World winners, Stephanie Del Valle and Rolene Struass, traveled to the impoverished rural area of Mvezo in South Africa to install machines producing clean sanitary pads. This was part of a project the current Miss World is undertaking to raise awareness about hygiene during menstruation. According to Manushi, in many parts of the world, women are not yet aware of the importance of this issue. |
| Additionally, the third place in the Miss Grand Slam award went to the Mexican beauty Andrea Meza, the runner-up of Miss World 2017. With her ideal height of 1.82 m and her work as a model and engineer, she is considered a representative of a modern-day beauty queen. |
| Top 5 Miss World contestant Magline Jeruto impressively secured fourth place. This woman of color possesses a face that has been compared to actress Lupita Nyong'o. The model, born in 1993, competed three times before finally representing Kenya at the international beauty pageant. Besides modeling, Magline also works as a travel consultant for a private company out of passion. She believes that success doesn't come to you; instead, you have to seek it out. |
