Two elderly women hid drugs while waiting for Tet (Lunar New Year).
Authorities have arrested two women for illegally trafficking drugs and seized a large quantity of synthetic drugs.
- On January 6, 2023, the Drug Crime Investigation Team of Cao Loc District Police (Lang Son Province) caught two suspects red-handed: Nguyen Thi Tham, born in 1959, and Nong Thi Nhim, born in 1964, both residing in Day Thep area, Dong Dang town, Cao Loc district (Lang Son).

During an emergency search of Nguyen Thi Tham's residence, the district police seized a total of 57 plastic bags containing white crystals, 702 pink tablets, 7 blue tablets, over 69 million VND; one electronic scale and many related items.
At Nong Thi Nhim's house, during the search, the task force discovered a total of 21 plastic bags containing white crystalline lumps, 136 pink tablets, 2 blue tablets; over 1 million VND, an electronic scale, 2 mobile phones, and other related evidence.

During questioning, the two suspects initially confessed that the tablets and white crystals contained in the plastic bags seized by the police were all synthetic drugs.

Nguyen Thi Tham has two prior convictions for illegal drug trafficking and one prior conviction for harboring prostitution.
