Hai Long scores a spectacular goal, Vietnam national team wins dramatically against Cambodia.

Midfielder Nguyen Hai Long shone with a spectacular long-range goal, making a significant contribution to Vietnam's dramatic victory over Cambodia.

On the evening of March 19th, at Go Dau Stadium (Binh Duong province), the Vietnamese national team played a friendly match against the Cambodian national team. This was an opportunity for coach Kim Sang-sik to test the lineup and assess the players' form before entering the important matches in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.

After many attempts, the opening goal came in the 25th minute for Vietnam. Hai Long executed a spectacular free-kick from 25 meters, sending the ball curling into the top corner, leaving the Cambodian goalkeeper completely helpless.

Just a few minutes later, the Vietnamese team doubled their lead. In the 34th minute, Van Vi, who had just come on as a substitute, immediately made his mark. He took advantage of the chaos in front of the Cambodian goal, tapping the ball in from close range to make the score 2-0.

In the final minutes of the first half, Vietnam continued to put pressure on the opponent. In the 42nd minute, Van Thanh unleashed a volley from outside the penalty area, but the ball missed the target. The first half ended with a 2-0 lead for the Vietnamese team.

Entering the second half, coach Kim Sang-sik made some personnel changes to conserve the energy of key players and experiment with new tactical options. Although they no longer attacked as relentlessly as in the first half, Vietnam still maintained possession and minimized dangerous situations from Cambodia.

The Vietnamese team maintained the tempo of the match with solidity in the midfield. Hoang Duc, Hai Long, and Van Khang continued to control the ball, creating attacking opportunities on both flanks.

In the 58th minute, a situation caused concern among Vietnamese fans when Hoang Duc suddenly felt pain after slipping. It appeared he had a minor muscle strain, but fortunately he was able to continue playing after receiving treatment from the medical staff.

In the 64th minute, the Cambodian team unexpectedly narrowed the score to 1-2. From a quick counter-attack, Bong Samuel unleashed a long-range shot from nearly 25 meters, beating Vietnam's goalkeeper Dinh Trieu.

After conceding a goal, the Vietnamese team proactively slowed down the pace of the game, focusing on controlling the ball and maintaining the score. Although Cambodia tried to attack to find an equalizer, the Vietnamese defense played attentively, preventing the opponent from creating any further dangerous opportunities.

The match ended with a 2-1 victory for the Vietnamese team. This is an important stepping stone for coach Kim Sang-sik and his players before entering the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup.
