Two reasons why Ukraine rejects Black Sea deal with Russia.
(Baonghean.vn) - A Russian political scientist claims that Ukraine has broken the Black Sea grain transit agreement with "unacceptable" demands.

According to RT, political scientist Vladimir Kornilov stated: "It's difficult to assess which clause in the agreement displeased Ukraine. But I believe that President Zelensky's office had several reasons to retaliate at the last minute."
Therefore, according to some speculation, Kyiv introduced certain terms, and when they realized that the participating parties could not accept those conditions, Kyiv abandoned the agreement.
According to political scientist Kornilov, it can be predicted that Ukraine's condition would be to allow NATO warships to be present in the Black Sea to escort ships traveling to and from Ukrainian ports. Previously, Ukrainian leaders have voiced similar initiatives.
"For Russia and Türkiye, this proposal is unacceptable. Clearly, neither side can compromise on this issue. Perhaps Kyiv realized the futility of achieving its goals, and therefore decided to break the agreement," Kornilov said.
However, according to Kornilov, there is another reason. That is, President Zelensky fears the consequences of reaching an agreement.
"Kyiv has officially banned negotiations with Russia. Perhaps, knowing that Türkiye would soon announce a shipping agreement, the Ukrainian president's advisors realized that this agreement could be considered a violation of Zelensky's own decree."
Previously, Russia, Ukraine, and Türkiye had negotiated for two months on a maritime security agreement in the Black Sea, and had nearly reached a consensus on the document. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan was scheduled to announce the agreement on March 30th. However, according to Reuters, Kyiv withdrew at the last minute. The reason for this decision from Ukraine is currently unclear.
The parties were reportedly prompted by the United Nations to begin negotiations.
