Ho Minh Quang completed the 2025 High School Graduation Exam with 37.75 points, in the top 5 of the province, including 9.5 points in Math, 9 points in Literature, 10 points in Physics and 9.25 points in Chemistry.

Looking at Quang's results, it's hard to believe that 3 years ago, when he was in 10th grade, he intended to not take the university entrance exam to go work abroad.

Teacher Doan Thi Huong Ly - homeroom teacher of class 12A1 said: When he first entered school, Quang was quiet and quite shy. Once, he shared with me that he did not want to go to university because he was afraid that his parents were poor and would have difficulty paying for his education. Knowing that Quang was a good student and had been an excellent student at the district level in grade 9, I encouraged him to try his best because this would be the shortest way for him and his family to overcome their situation.

After spending more time with Quang, teacher Huong Ly realized that Quang was a very intelligent student. However, in order for Quang to develop his personal abilities, the teacher had to organize many activities and boldly assign Quang to be the group leader, organizer, program builder...

By participating in the movement, Quang gradually became more open and enthusiastic about the movements of the class and the school. That also encouraged Quang to study and become the top student in many subjects. Mrs. Bui Thi Huong - Quang's mother shared: My husband and I are both old, we only work in agriculture, so we leave all of our children's schoolwork to the teachers. During high school, I know there were many times when my child felt embarrassed because he had to ask his parents for money to pay for school fees, money to take the aptitude test, etc. However, I always encouraged him to try to study hard so that he can go to university and have a decent job.

In class 12A1, Quang's situation is really difficult because Quang's father is over 52 years old this year, used to work as a security guard in Hanoi but due to poor health had to quit halfway. Quang's mother, in addition to farming, only works for hire, such as hoeing grass, cutting branches, digging holes to plant cajuput trees, so her income is unstable, sometimes there is work, sometimes there is not. Feeling sorry for his parents, Quang decided to choose the Pedagogy major at Hanoi National University of Education to ease the family's burden.

Le Van Hai: Study torise above circumstances

In the same class with Quang, Hai is also an outstanding student. In the recent 12th grade excellent student exam, he also won second prize in both Math and Chemistry.

At the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, I was on the list of students in Block A with high graduation scores and was commended with a score of 9 in Math and Literature. In addition, I got a score of 10 in both Physics and Chemistry.

Sharing about his exam results, Hai added: I think that this year's Physics and Chemistry exams were not too difficult and I finished them earlier than the required time. For Math, I think I would have done better if I had not been so nervous while doing the test. As for Literature, I was quite surprised. Without the careful review from my teachers, I think I would not have been able to achieve such good results.

Growing up in Bach Ngoc commune in a family where both parents are farmers, Hai also believes that studying is the only way for him to overcome his circumstances. With that simple thought, from grade 10 until now, Hai has always set for himself a scientific and diligent study plan.

Every day, in addition to studying in class and attending review and training classes at school, Hai spends a lot of time studying on his own: I think the most important thing is to master the knowledge in the textbooks. Besides, you have to practice a lot to get used to many different types of exercises and train yourself to be careful when doing the exercises...

During the days of studying for exams, Hai always thanked his teachers because due to his difficult circumstances, he almost did not go to extra classes outside. He also did not participate in the ability assessment and thinking assessment exams because he was worried about spending a lot of money on studying and traveling. In return, thanks to regular review and training at school and free extra classes at his teachers' homes, he had a firm grasp of the knowledge and was confident to express himself.

With this result, Hai has now registered for the Military Science Academy and dreams of becoming a soldier in the future.
