Two people sentenced for beating a dog thief to death.
Upon discovering two strangers stealing his dog, Tang and his neighbors chased after them with sticks and iron pipes. The pursuit and scuffle resulted in the death of one of the dog thieves, while the other three were sent to prison.

On May 24th, the Hanoi City People's Court brought defendants Hoang Van Tang (born in 1989) and Nguyen Van Thuc (born in 1974), both from Hong Thai commune (Phu Xuyen district, Hanoi), to trial for murder.
Regarding the case, the defendant Le Van Hoa (born in 1989, residing in Quang Trung commune, Phu Xuyen district) is on trial for theft of property. The victim in the case is Nguyen Ngoc Ban (residing in Phu Xuyen district).
According to the allegations, on the afternoon of October 12, 2017, Nguyen Ngoc Ban and Le Van Hoa conspired to steal dogs from residents in Thuong Tin and Phu Xuyen districts to sell for money to spend. Ban carried an electric stun gun and a knife with him.
After stealing four dogs from residents in Thuong Tin and Phu Xuyen districts, Hoa drove Ban to Hong Thai commune (Phu Xuyen district) to continue stealing property. While passing by Tang's house, they saw a yellow dog on the street, so they stopped to "take action".
Just as they were using tape to muzzle the dog, the two were spotted by nearby residents, who shouted and chased after them.
Hearing the shouts of "dog thieves," Tang ran out of his house. Seeing his dog being stolen, the homeowner grabbed an iron pipe and chased after them. Thuc, a neighbor, also grabbed a bamboo stick with a homemade spike attached and rode his motorbike to block the two dog thieves.
Approaching the nearby Máng Bảy bridge, Thức caught up because Ban and Hòa's car hit a pothole, lost control, and plunged into the ditch. Thức used a homemade stick with a prong to stab Hòa, but missed and was pushed into the ditch by Hòa.
As Thuc scrambled ashore, Ban attacked him with a machete. Dodging the blow, Thuc grabbed a spear and stabbed Ban in the chest.
Tang also grabbed an iron pipe and rushed forward, striking Ban and causing him to fall to the ground. Instead of stopping, Tang and Thuc continued to punch and kick Ban, leading to his death.
For the above actions, the Hanoi City People's Court sentenced Thuc to 7 years in prison and Tang to 6 years in prison for murder. Defendant Hoa received a 12-month prison sentence for theft.
