Two robbers wearing helmets, masks, gloves... opened fire at the owner of Thong Phuong shop, broke the glass cabinet and took 7-8 taels of gold.
Security cameras at Thong Phuong gold shop on Tran Van Muoi street (Xuan Thoi Dong commune, Hoc Mon district) recorded the robbery that took place in 30 seconds, at 3:21 p.m. on November 15.
Two skinny robbers, wearing jeans and black jackets, each wearing only one glove, rode a Sirius motorbike with a Binh Duong license plate to the front of the store. At that time, only Mr. Nguyen Van Thong (43 years old, the store owner) was inside the counter.
They quickly walked in. One of them held a hammer (with bare hands) and smashed the glass case to take the gold, the other one pulled out a gun (with bare hands) and pointed it at Mr. Thong threateningly. The shop owner ran into the corner of the house to avoid it, the robber fired two shots behind him.

At 3:22 p.m., the two robbers ran out, throwing the hammer at the scene. The gunman frantically drove the bike. Mr. Thong’s brother, who lived nearby, ran to throw the bike away, but they had already sped off toward Highway 22.
Mr. Thong said the amount of gold stolen was about 7-8 taels. Tran Van Muoi Street was quite deserted from noon to afternoon. This road was under construction, dusty, and pedestrians always covered their faces, so when the two robbers stopped in front of the store, he did not notice anything unusual.

In addition to the camera at the gold shop, security cameras at houses along the road also recorded images of the two robbers. Dozens of criminal investigators from the Ho Chi Minh City Police were mobilized to search for them throughout the night.
