Two robbers, wearing helmets, masks, and gloves, opened fire on the owner of Thong Phuong shop, smashed the glass display case, and stole 7-8 taels of gold.
Security cameras at the Thong Phuong gold shop on Tran Van Muoi Street (Xuan Thoi Dong commune, Hoc Mon district) recorded the robbery, which lasted 30 seconds, at 3:21 PM on November 15th.
Two thin robbers, wearing jeans and black jackets, each with only one glove, arrived at the store on a Sirius motorbike with a Binh Duong province license plate. At that time, only Mr. Nguyen Van Thong (43 years old, the shop owner) was inside the counter.
They entered quickly. One man, wielding a hammer (bare-handed), smashed the glass display case to steal the gold, while the other, also bare-handed, pointed a gun at Mr. Thong, threatening him. The shop owner fled into a corner to escape, and the robber fired two shots into his back.

At 3:22 PM, the two robbers fled, throwing the hammer back at the scene. The one with the gun frantically tried to get on his motorbike. Mr. Thong's brother, who lived nearby, ran over and threw the bicycle at them, but they sped off towards National Highway 22.
Mr. Thong said that the amount of gold stolen was about 7-8 taels. Tran Van Muoi Street was quite deserted from noon to afternoon. The road was under construction, with thick dust everywhere, and people on the street always covered their faces, so when the two robbers stopped in front of his shop, he didn't notice anything unusual.

In addition to the security cameras at the gold shop, security cameras from houses along the street also captured images of the two robbers. Dozens of criminal investigators from the Ho Chi Minh City Police were mobilized to track them down throughout last night.
