Two young men beat a woman and resisted law enforcement officers
(Baonghen.vn) - Vinh City Police said that the Investigation Police Agency has just initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and issued a temporary decision against the accused Tran Anh Tu and Nguyen Van Nam for the act of resisting people on official duty.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai Tho (born in 1986), residing in Hamlet 22, Nghi Phong Commune, Nghi Loc District - the victim in the case, presented to the investigation agency: At about 10:05 p.m. on October 31, 2016, after finishing work, Ms. Tho drove her motorbike home. While riding on Lenin Avenue (about 150 meters from the Nghi Phu Commune gas station), she was suddenly stopped by Tran Anh Tu and Nguyen Van Nam riding a blue and white Excier motorbike from behind. Tu used his hand to hit Ms. Tho's head, causing her to fall onto the road and be injured.

At the same time, comrade Phan Quang Linh - permanent police officer of Nghi Phu commune, Vinh city (wearing the commune police uniform) was on his way to the base. Seeing that, comrade Linh ran to introduce himself as a permanent police officer of Nghi Phu commune and asked the two young men not to beat the women; at the same time, asked the two young men to go to the Nghi Phu commune People's Committee headquarters to clarify the matter.
However, the two subjects Tran Van Tu and Nguyen Van Nam did not comply but instead resisted, challenged, and insulted comrade Linh. While arguing loudly, subject Tran Van Tu jumped in, grabbed the rubber stick, and beat comrade Linh. Comrade Linh resisted and grabbed the rubber stick, but Tu hit her in the head with a brick, and subject Nam also rushed in to punch and kick comrade Linh in the face, causing him to be injured and fall onto the street.
With the help of passersby, comrade Linh and Ms. Tho were taken to Nghe An General Hospital 115 for emergency treatment and wound dressing. After consolidating the case file and evidence, Vinh City Police Department initiated a criminal case, prosecuted the accused, and issued a decision to temporarily detain the two accused Tran Van Tu and Nguyen Van Nam for resisting law enforcement officers to serve the investigation.
It is known that Tu and Nam both have bad personal records. In 2003, Tu was sentenced by the Vinh City People's Court to 45 months in prison for illegal possession of drugs, theft of property, and fraud. In 2007, Tu was sentenced by the Vinh City People's Court to 33 months in prison for theft of property and intentional injury.
As for Nguyen Van Nam, in 1999, the People's Court sentenced him to 24 months in prison for receiving property obtained through criminal acts, but the sentence was suspended. In 2011, Nam was sentenced to 24 months in prison for theft by the Vinh City People's Court./.
