US Customs and Border Protection said they found two young men illegally entering the US border on Thursday, July 21.

Both were walking and said they were “not paying attention to their surroundings” while glued to their phone screens playing the worldwide hit game Pokémon GO.

“These two teenagers were engrossed in the game Pokémon Go and had no idea where they were,” said Michael Rappold, a spokesman for US Customs and Border Protection.

The two men detained are brothers from Alberta, Canada. Fortunately, they are both minors and have not been charged with any crime. Officials say they have now returned to Canada to be reunited with their families.

Pokémon GO is the most popular virtual reality game on smartphones in the world. Players will walk, use smartphones to catch virtual Pokémon. Therefore, if you are too absorbed in the phone screen, it is very easy for rare accidents to happen. Pokémon GO is expected to be available in Vietnam at the end of this month.
