The couple died tragically on Christmas Eve.
On the night of December 24th, residents of alley 24, residential group 2, Chua Thong Street, Son Tay town, Hanoi, noticed thick black smoke billowing from the window of house number 66, belonging to Mr. Nguyen Van Chuc (born in 1955) and his wife, Ms. Le Thi Nho (born in 1958). Upon breaking down the door, they were shocked to find the two victims dead inside the house.
At 10 PM on December 24th, residents discovered smoke coming from house number 66, alley 24, residential group number 2, Chua Thong street (Son Tay town, Hanoi). The whole neighborhood rushed to the scene and found Mr. Chuc's house locked from the outside. Despite repeated calls, no one answered, and thick black smoke continued to billow out. Suspecting something was wrong, the neighbors broke down the door and entered the house.
Upon entering, the surrounding residents were horrified to discover Mr. Nguyen Van Chuc lying face down under a wooden chair, while Mrs. Le Thi Nho lay not far away. The floor was stained with the victims' blood. Both victims had died earlier. They had multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest. In the kitchen and stairwell, flames and smoke were still licking at the objects, burning fiercely. The residents immediately notified the authorities.
Upon receiving the report, the Fire and Rescue Police and the police arrived to extinguish the fire and examine the scene. Colonel Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Hanoi City Police, personally directed the investigation. Specialized departments such as the Criminal Investigation Department and forensic science department were also mobilized to assist the Son Tay Town Police in investigating and examining the case.

Preliminary examination at the scene revealed that Mr. Chuc and Mrs. Nho died with multiple injuries, suggesting they were murdered. Many items in the house showed signs of being ransacked. Relatives returning home discovered that two mobile phones and notebooks belonging to Mr. Chuc and Mrs. Nho were missing. However, 40 million VND and several other valuable items remained in the cupboard.
According to our investigation, Mr. and Mrs. Chúc and Nhỡ have two children who live and work in Hanoi. Both victims have been retired for many years. Every morning, Mrs. Chúc would wake up early and go to the end of the alley to exercise with her neighbors.

Every day, Mr. Chuc drives his motorbike, taking Mrs. Nho to Vi Thuy ward to sell lottery tickets. In the evening, the couple usually return home before 7 PM. In the residential area, Mr. Chuc and Mrs. Nho are known for being gentle, kind, and always helping others to the best of their ability.
This morning, December 25th, the police conducted an investigation into the cause of the incident. By 9:00 AM, the investigation was complete, and the victims' bodies had been transferred to the funeral home. A large, dried bloodstain remained near the entrance of the victims' house. Smoke from the fire was still visible on the second-floor windows and in the stairwell of the house.
