(Baonghean.vn) - TASS news agency quoted AFP news agency as saying that the Palestinian Hamas movement is ready to extend the humanitarian ceasefire that took effect on November 24.

“The mediators are making active efforts, which are ongoing, to achieve one more day of ceasefire and work to extend the ceasefire agreement for a few more days,” the source quoted by AFP said.

The humanitarian ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip came into effect on November 24, initially scheduled to last 4 days, then extended and most recently extended for 1 more day on November 30.

In another development, TASS reported that Hamas accused Israel of refusing to receive the bodies of three Israeli hostages killed in a bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

The statement was made by Hamas in a caption to a video of one of the hostages posted on Telegram by the group. The caption reads: “His wife and two children were killed in an attack by Israeli warplanes.”

Hamas said it had “offered to hand over the bodies of the three dead, but the Israeli authorities refused to accept them and continued to delay and bargain.”

Al Hadath TV channel reported earlier that Hamas planned to release six hostages from the Gaza Strip and hand over the bodies of three Israelis by the end of November 30. Earlier, radical groups in Gaza released two female hostages, who have now returned to Israel.

Hamas also released the names of 30 prisoners that Israel plans to release later on November 30 as part of a hostage swap being held in the Gaza Strip. The list includes eight women and 22 teenagers. This is the seventh group of prisoners that Israel has released under a ceasefire agreement with Hamas.
