Following the severe damage caused by storms and floods, especially in the central region, many countries and international organizations have announced aid for Vietnam.

On November 21, the South Korean government announced $1 million in emergency aid to support post-typhoon emergency response efforts, to be implemented through the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Vietnam.

South Korea's aid focuses on supporting people who have been forced to temporarily relocate and evacuated, and communities affected by the major storms that devastated northern Vietnam since late September. Typhoons Bualoi and Matmo, along with numerous major floods, caused significant damage.

The British Embassy announced on November 21 that the British government has released an additional £300,000 in aid for humanitarian relief efforts in central Vietnam. This aid, along with the £500,000 already provided in October, brings the total amount of emergency assistance from the UK this year to £800,000 (approximately 27 billion VND).

Yesterday, during a meeting with National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Czech Senate President Milos Vystrcil, on behalf of the Czech Government, presented a donation equivalent to 3.5 billion VND to support the Vietnamese people in overcoming the consequences of the recent storms and floods.

Previously, on November 17th, the US Embassy in Hanoi announced that the US was providing $500,000 in emergency aid to support Vietnam in recovering from the typhoon, focusing on helping the most severely affected families and communities ensure essential needs such as temporary shelter and clean water. This assistance follows a $500,000 package that the US provided in October to help Vietnam respond to previous typhoons.

The United States recognizes the immense scale of damage that the people of Vietnam are facing after two consecutive typhoons and is committed to supporting the relief efforts being implemented by the Vietnamese government following the storms.

On November 13th, the New Zealand government announced a humanitarian aid package of NZ$1 million (approximately VND 15 billion). This funding aims to help communities in Vietnam recover from recent natural disasters, including severe storms and floods that caused widespread damage and evacuations.

In October, many countries and international organizations provided aid to Vietnam to respond to and overcome natural disasters. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment reported that, as of November 19th, embassies, organizations, and international partners had provided and pledged support to localities affected by typhoons No. 10, 11, 12, and 13, and the subsequent floods, totaling approximately US$13.484 million.

According to the plan, a shipment of aid from the European Union (EU) will be transported to Noi Bai International Airport and then distributed to Dak Lak province. The aid includes 138 kitchen sets and 150 family tents, worth approximately 75,660 euros.

Since the beginning of the year, Vietnam has been damaged by 11 typhoons (6 of which directly affected the mainland) and 4 tropical depressions, resulting in over 200 deaths and hundreds of injuries. These natural disasters have caused hundreds of thousands of houses to collapse, hundreds of thousands of hectares of crops to be swept away, and thousands of transportation routes to be damaged or cut off. Many public facilities such as schools, hospitals, health centers, and government offices have suffered severe damage.

The recent floods in South Central Vietnam alone have claimed 72 lives. Dak Lak was the hardest hit with 44 deaths, followed by Khanh Hoa with 14, Lam Dong and Gia Lai with 5 each, and Hue and Da Nang with 2 each. Thirteen people are currently missing.
