Forty police officers raided a gambling den at a mechanics workshop in Thuong Coc commune, catching 32 people red-handed gambling on a mat, playing the game of "xoc dia" (a Vietnamese dice game).

On January 28, the police in Phuc Tho district, Hanoi, announced that they are currently holding 18 people in custody for investigation into the act of "gambling," and are expanding the case to prosecute those involved for organizing gambling.

Earlier, on the afternoon of January 23rd (the second day of the Lunar New Year), approximately 40 police officers from Phuc Tho District Police raided a gambling den at a mechanical workshop in Thuong Coc commune, catching 32 people red-handed participating in gambling using the dice-shaking method.

Police seized a set of bowls and plates, four gambling tokens, a felt mat, and 190 million VND from the gambling table. In addition, authorities confiscated over 200 million VND from the gamblers.

The police in Phuc Tho district have drawn up a report documenting the arrest of the perpetrator in the act of committing the crime.
