(Baonghean.vn) - Currently, in the border district of Ky Son, there are dozens of landslides with huge amounts of rocks and soil, posing a danger to people. It is worth mentioning that weak humus still appears on the mountainside, if it continues to rain, landslides and traffic jams will recur.

In recent days, heavy rains have continuously occurred in the border district of Ky Son, causing landslides to appear frequently. According to statistics from the district's Economic Infrastructure Department, up to now, the whole district has dozens of landslides, the most serious of which is Provincial Road 543D from Muong Xen town to Muong Tip, Muong Ai, where every few dozen meters a large mass of rock and soil has fallen. Mr. Ha No Thai - Chairman of Muong Tip Commune People's Committee said: Provincial Road 543D is the only road into the locality, and has been seriously eroded, making it very difficult and dangerous for people to travel, especially 50 households at highest risk when living next to landslides... According to observations by reporters on the afternoon of August 9, although some sections of the road had been reinforced with stone cages by local authorities and functional forces to prevent landslides, in reality, the layer of soil and rocks still fell down, overflowing the embankment and spilling onto the road. The worrying thing now is that the weak humus layer is still hanging on the slope of the slope tens of meters high. If it continues to rain in the coming days, landslides will continue at these locations. Photo: Quang An

People in Xop Phe village, Muong Tip commune, feel like they are sitting on hot coals as their house is right next to a landslide. Mrs. Moong Me Hung, Muong Tip commune, sighed: It has been raining so hard these past few days that no one in the family dares to sleep at night for fear of landslides. Many people have gone to stay with their neighbors... Photo: Quang An

Ky Son district has mobilized machinery to level landslides and ensure traffic for people. However, this is only a temporary solution because after a rain, landslides recurred. Photo: Xuan Hoang
