On a day plagued by bad luck, Neymar and Luis Suarez missed a series of chances in front of Moenchengladbach's goal. Meanwhile, the home team attacked less but managed to score the opening goal midway through the first half. Without the right substitutions from coach Luis Enrique, Barca could have suffered a bitter defeat. Just minutes after coming on, Arda Turan scored the equalizer with a volley. Not long after, center-back Gerard Pique played the hero for the visitors with a tap-in that secured a 2-1 comeback victory.

Thanks to a crucial victory away at Moenchengladbach, Barca now sit alone at the top of Group C in the Champions League. Enrique's team currently has six points after two matches, two points more than Man City. Celtic, who held Man City to a draw in their simultaneous match, are in third place with one point.Moenchengladbach has yet to earn any points.

Compared to the strongest lineup Barca has had since the beginning of the season, the starting lineup in the match on September 28th was only missing Lionel Messi due to injury. Paco Alcacer played in his place, and this was partly why the attack couldn't perform at its best. Having only joined Barca at the end of the summer transfer window, Paco hasn't yet found chemistry with his new teammates. Not to mention that the striker is used to playing as a center forward at his former club Valencia.

While Paco lacked experience, another problem hindering Neymar and Suarez was their bad luck. The two players had at least four chances in the first half but all went wide or hit the goalkeeper's hands. The most regrettable moment was Suarez's unmarked volley that narrowly missed the post. Suarez also had another volley, while Neymar's tap-in from the middle of the box went straight to goalkeeper Yann Sommer.

Thorgan Hazard put the home team ahead.

In the first half, what happened to Barca was the complete opposite ofMoenchengladbach. The home team attacked less, but every time they went forward they created a dangerous situation for goalkeeper Ter Stegen's goal. As early as the third minute,Moenchengladbach could have opened the scoring early if the referee hadn't overlooked Pique's handball in the penalty area. In the 34th minute, Barca's luck ran out as they faced a sharp counter-attack. The opening goal stemmed from a rare mistake by Sergio Busquets. After winning the ball, Raffael dribbled straight towards the Barca penalty area before passing to Mahmoud Dahoud, who then threaded a pass to Thorgan Hazard, who tapped the ball in. This was also Thorgan's seventh goal in his last 10 matches; he is the younger brother of midfielder Eden Hazard.

Facing the risk of leaving Germany empty-handed, coach Enrique made numerous substitutions from the start of the second half. This decision proved correct as the two new players, Rafinha and Turan, both performed effectively. Notably, Turan needed only four minutes on the field to score the equalizer.

Turan's shot surprised goalkeeper Sommer.

The credit for the equalizer goes to Neymar, who delivered a perfectly placed lofted pass into the penalty area.Moenchengladbach. That was all it took; Turan raced down, broke the offside trap, and fired a powerful shot from a tight angle into the home team's net.

The equalizer may also have helped Barca regain their finishing luck. Just nine minutes later, Pique successfully capitalized on a rebound after Suarez's shot, then finished from close range to seal a 2-1 victory. A home defender was standing right next to Pique but couldn't stop the shot from such close to the goal.

With their lead and six points after two matches, Barca have a significant advantage in Group C against Man City. In three weeks' time, in the third matchday, the two teams will face each other directly at Camp Nou.
