(Baonghean.vn) - To celebrate Christmas 2019, parishioners of Ke Gai parish, Hung Tay commune, Hung Nguyen district, designed and assembled a giant nativity scene made from thousands of bamboo poles and countless plastic bags. This is one of the most unique projects in Nghe An during this Christmas season.

Video: Although Christmas hasn't arrived yet, the nativity scene attracts hundreds of visitors every night.

A giant grotto, erected in front of and to the right of the Kẻ Gai parish church, resembles a rocky mountain. The grotto is dozens of meters long and about 15 meters high.
The upper part of the cave is designed with many shapes mimicking vertical rock formations, crevices, and streams... in a complex pattern.
The cave has multiple levels, and you can reach the top via a bamboo-paved path about 1 meter wide that runs from one side of the cave to the other.
The cave features many vivid depictions, such as the manger where the infant Jesus was born, as well as a zoo, houses, trees, and images of angels...
In front of the cave, it was quite cozy to see the thatched cottage of Jesus' family.
Made from thousands of bamboo poles and countless cement bags, the skillful hands of the parishioners have created a massive yet romantic structure.
Beneath this giant cave are numerous entrances and connecting passageways, allowing locals and tourists to move around, admire the scenery, and take photos.
According to parishioners, the parish prepared for months in advance to create this Nativity scene, gathering materials, designing, and constructing it. Every day, parishioners worked in teams. From the start of construction to completion, the Nativity scene took a full month, involving thousands of man-days of labor. (In the photo: The back of the giant Nativity scene.)
The giant cave glows brightly at night, and can be admired from three sides (front and two sides). In the photo: The cave viewed from the side.
Although Christmas hasn't arrived yet and the construction is not complete, every night a large number of people come to admire this nativity scene. The giant nativity scene in Ke Gai parish is considered one of the most unique and magnificent structures of the 2019 Christmas season in Nghe An.
