A number of officials have been disciplined for allowing deforestation.
The Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee Office has just issued a document announcing the results of disciplinary action against collectives and individuals responsible for the deforestation of protected forests in Mang Den, an area bordering Kon Plong and Kon Ray districts.

Accordingly, the Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee disciplined two Party members with a reprimand: Mr. Nguyen Kim Phuong, Deputy Director of the Kon Tum Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; and Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Head of the Kon Tum Provincial Forest Protection Department.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Kon Tum province has disciplined 15 officials and civil servants of the Kon Rẫy District Forest Protection Unit and the Kon Rẫy Protective Forest Management Board. Of these, eight received reprimands, seven received warnings, and the head of the Kon Rẫy District Protective Forest Management Board was transferred to another position.
The Standing Committee of the Kon Rẫy District Party Committee has disciplined the Party Branch of the Kon Rẫy Protective Forest Management Board and 11 Party members within the branch with a reprimand, including 10 cases of reprimand and one case of warning. Over the past period, the aforementioned units and individuals have been negligent and lax in their duties, allowing numerous cases of forest encroachment to occur at 15 locations covering an area of over 5.2 hectares within the protective forest area of the Măng Đen pass.
