(Baonghean.vn) - Recently, in the communes and wards of Thai Hoa town and Nghia Dan district, there has been a situation where park benches, utility poles, and residential area fences have been spray-painted and plastered with advertisements for gambling and betting websites.
Mr. Le Minh Hoa from Tay Hieu commune said: "I brought my child to the community center for a walk and to enjoy the fresh air, and I saw the words 'Try your luck now and good fortune will come' from a gambling website printed on the stone benches. It looks very unsightly and spoils the aesthetics."
Meanwhile, Ms. Le Thi Hang, from Nghia Hong commune, Nghia Dan district, expressed her frustration: "Even though there are security cameras in front of my house, taking advantage of the darkness, these people still bring paint to spray and stick up advertisements."
Many people believe that these gambling advertisements are very dangerous, especially in densely populated areas, where many students come to play and pass by. This situation easily leads to people becoming curious and trying to play, resulting in financial losses and other problems. Directly accessing the aforementioned website reveals many gambling games such as: Casino, fish shooting, slot machines, 3D card games, lottery, mahjong, etc. Numerous advertisements, introductions, and invitations encourage viewers to participate in online games in various forms.
In response to this situation, residents in communes and wards in Thai Hoa town and Nghia Dan district extracted camera footage and discovered that the perpetrators consisted of 2-3 people, wearing masks, traveling by motorbike to areas with benches and walls, and using spray paint and adhesive tape to carry out their acts. The perpetrators committed these acts between 1 and 4 AM, when there were no passersby, to avoid detection.
It is clear that the spraying of paint and the pasting of advertisements not only detract from urban aesthetics but also constitute a violation of the law. Therefore, relevant authorities need to promptly investigate, impose strict penalties, and warn people about the risks of participating in these types of online games. Furthermore, people need to raise their awareness and be vigilant against deceptive advertising tactics like those described above.
