November 20, 2017 20:04

Mai Linh Bike, the ride-hailing app of Mai Linh Group, officially launched in three major cities: Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City on November 20th.

Thus, in addition to the two currently popular ride-hailing services, GrabBike and UberMoto, people can now experience another type of ride-hailing service owned by a Vietnamese company.

According to Mr. Ho Huy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mai Linh, in preparation for its official launch, Mai Linh Bike had previously been tested for about two months by the company's employees and drivers. This application was developed by Vietnamese technology engineers.

Similar to familiar ride-hailing services on the market such as GrabBike and UberMoto, passengers using Mai Linh Bike also know in advance the driver's name, photo, phone number, license plate number, etc.

Regarding fares, Mai Linh Bike is not significantly different from GrabBike or UberMoto. The company affirms that it will not increase prices during peak hours.

Specifically, for standard rides, Mai Linh Bike applies a price of 11,000 VND for the first 2 km and 3,700 VND for each subsequent kilometer. For Premium rides (with better service), the price is almost double the standard price, at 20,000 VND for the first 2 km and 7,000 VND for each subsequent kilometer.

To attract drivers, Mai Linh Bike will offer free operation to drivers for the first two months of its launch. After that, drivers will pay Mai Linh a 15% commission.

Drivers wishing to become Mai Linh partners must undergo a training course and, upon acceptance, will deposit a 100,000 VND account maintenance fee.
