Thousands of Quynh Luu women speak out against priest Dang Huu Nam

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 6, in Son Hai commune, the Women's Union of Quynh Luu district organized a protest against the actions of priest Dang Huu Nam.

At the ceremony, more than 2,000 people from Son Hai commune, including women, war veterans, youth union members, workers, and sailors returning from the sea for the holidays, were also present to voice their opposition to Father Dang Huu Nam - Parish Priest of Phu Yen, An Hoa commune.

Priest Nam committed illegal acts, taking advantage of children to hang banners and slogans distorting the historic victory of April 30, 1975, preaching and slandering the Communist Party of Vietnam and the socialist regime whose heroes and martyrs sacrificed so much blood to regain independence and freedom for the nation.

Specifically, Mr. Dang Huu Nam preached to the parishioners that: “April 30 is the day that the Vietnamese people lost their freedom, the day that people did not have human rights, the day that caused the country to mourn, the day that made the country backward and poor, the day that Vietnam lost the opportunity to develop, the day that created injustice in every part of the country…”.

Faced with such immoral words and actions, CCB Nguyen Thi Menh - Member of the Women's Union of Village 6, Son Hai Commune expressed her opinion: "Dang Huu Nam's words seriously offend the honor and dignity of millions of Vietnamese people who heroically sacrificed their lives to protect the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, denying the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs. Especially seriously offending the contributions and honor of thousands of veterans, wounded soldiers, and sick soldiers in the whole district. Propose to prosecute and strictly handle Mr. Dang Huu Nam".

The members of the Women's Union and the majority of the people of Son Hai commune passed a resolution to protest against Mr. Dang Huu Nam, the parish priest of Phu Yen, An Hoa commune. They requested that the Archbishop of Vinh diocese and the Deanery of Thuan Nghia take measures to prevent the illegal acts of priest Dang Huu Nam. They requested that priest Nam strictly abide by the law, not make any provocative statements to the parishioners and apologize to the people and war veterans of Quynh Luu district. They requested that the authorities and agencies at all levels prosecute and handle Mr. Dang Huu Nam according to the law./.
