Just this past Saturday weekend, approximately 50.5 million domestic tourists visited destinations across the country.
A day later, that number had risen to 65.2 million people, a 14.7% increase compared to last year.
Meanwhile, due to the excessive concentration of people at tourist destinations, many major Chinese cities are virtually deserted.
