Tens of thousands of people made a pilgrimage to the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site on New Year's Day.

On the first day of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, tens of thousands of people from all over the country flocked to the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site in Nghe An province to respectfully offer flowers and incense, paying tribute to beloved President Ho Chi Minh.

Despite the spring rain, thousands of people from all over the country gathered at the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site from early morning. Each person came to offer fresh flowers and incense, expressing their deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh and praying for a peaceful and fortunate new year.

Among those people were families who had traveled thousands of kilometers to visit President Ho Chi Minh's hometown, carrying with them deeply sacred and moving sentiments.

Living in Da Nang, whenever Nguyen Thi Kim Chung's family visits her husband's hometown in Thien Nhan commune, they always choose the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site as their first destination for their spring trip.

"I wanted to offer incense and remember Uncle Ho, the man who brought 'springs' to our country. Visiting his birthplace is always a particularly sacred feeling. During this journey, my family has come to understand even more deeply the simple yet great life of our beloved President Ho Chi Minh," shared Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chung.

Ms. Tran Thi Ha from Kim Lien commune said that the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site is always the first destination for her family every Tet holiday. "During Tet, everyone remembers their roots. My family always educates our children about the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and teaches them to learn from his noble character and his love for the people and the country," Ms. Tran Thi Ha shared.

On the first day of the new year 2026, many agencies, businesses, and armed forces units visited the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site to lay flowers and offer incense in commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh. This activity has become a beautiful cultural tradition at the beginning of the new year, demonstrating the principle of "drinking water, remembering the source" and the sacred feelings for the beloved Uncle Ho.

"As is customary on the first day of the new year, Nghe An Power Company respectfully offers flowers and incense to commemorate the immense contributions of the great President Ho Chi Minh. The incense offering ceremony is not only a traditional activity but also an opportunity for the company to report to Uncle Ho on the achievements made in the past year. Entering the new year, the company is determined to improve its management capacity and operate the power system safely and efficiently, serving the development of the province and the lives of its people even better," said Le Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of Nghe An Power Company.

To prepare for the 2026 spring tourism season, the Kim Lien Historical Site Management Board is implementing a plan to renovate the entire site, ensuring a dignified, harmonious, and friendly atmosphere.

Mr. Nguyen Bao Tuan, Director of the Relic Site Management Board, said: "In the early days of the Lunar New Year, a large number of people from all over the country came to offer flowers and incense to commemorate Uncle Ho. The unit has developed a specific plan and implemented many solutions to ensure security, order, and environmental hygiene. Staff of the board are on duty 24/7 to serve all units and individuals visiting Uncle Ho's hometown."

As a tour guide working here for over 15 years, every Lunar New Year, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai, a tour guide at the Kim Lien Historical Site, along with the staff, always feel a sense of nostalgia and emotion when serving, explaining, and sharing stories about President Ho Chi Minh's family with everyone. Through this, they contribute to spreading the learning and emulation of his ideology, ethics, and style.

"Like my colleagues, I always believe that welcoming guests at the beginning of the year is an honor, expressing our deep gratitude to our beloved President Ho Chi Minh, and contributing to making the spring season in his homeland even more complete and warm," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai, a tour guide at the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site.

The Kim Lien National Special Historical Site preserves artifacts associated with the simple life and activities of President Ho Chi Minh during his childhood and his family. This year, the site has built miniature landscapes and decorated them with flags and vibrant flowers, creating a relaxing space for visitors to enjoy themselves and take souvenir photos when visiting the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh.

This year's highlight at the Kim Lien Special National Historical Site is the focus on visual propaganda and promotion with three main themes: commemorating the 85th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's return to Vietnam to directly lead the revolution (January 28, 1941 - January 28, 2026); celebrating the success of the 14th National Party Congress and the elections for National Assembly and People's Council representatives at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. In particular, an exhibition area themed "President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese National Assembly" is displayed right in the center of the main gate, serving visitors during the Lunar New Year holiday.
