Assaulting a friend over just 10,000 VND.
The incident occurred at Thanh Hoa Vocational College in Dong Cuong ward, Thanh Hoa city, on the afternoon of December 17, 2024.
On December 19th, information from the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police stated that the Thanh Hoa City Police are investigating and summoning individuals involved to clarify their actions and the cause of the incident.
According to reporters, at approximately 11:30 AM on December 18, 2024, a video circulated on many social media platforms showing a male student being repeatedly punched and kicked by a classmate, causing the other student to collapse to the ground clutching his face.
Notably, even when the male student collapsed on the school grounds without defending himself, the other student continued to kick him in the stomach and stomp on his face. At the time of the incident, many students witnessed it, but no one intervened; in fact, many stood around laughing.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Thanh Hoa City Police mobilized forces and promptly coordinated with relevant units to verify and clarify the reported incident. In less than an hour, the Thanh Hoa City Police determined that the incident in the video occurred at Thanh Hoa Vocational College in Dong Cuong Ward, Thanh Hoa City.
At the same time, the police have clearly identified the person who used violence against his classmate as Vo Tien Minh (born in 2008), residing in Xuan Giang commune, Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province.
The Thanh Hoa City Police have summoned Minh and other related individuals for questioning.
At the investigative agency, Vo Tien Minh initially confessed honestly and admitted to all of his actions.
According to Minh, at approximately 2:00 PM on December 17, 2024, VVT (born in 2009), residing in Thieu Duong Ward, Thanh Hoa City, dropped a 10,000 VND banknote in the classroom. Vo Tien Minh was the one who found the banknote.
When VVT realized that Minh had found her money, she demanded it back, but Minh refused. A conflict and verbal abuse ensued between the two, after which VVT managed to snatch the money back from Minh's hand.
At 5 PM that same day, while VVT was walking with a friend in the schoolyard, Minh saw him and suddenly rushed in, using his hands and feet to punch and kick VVT in the face, head, and arms, causing injuries.
The Thanh Hoa City Police Department is currently continuing its investigation to clarify the matter and will handle it strictly in accordance with the law.
