A Vietnamese passenger was sentenced to 15 days in prison for stealing a life jacket and three headphones on a flight from Saudi Arabia to Vietnam.

The passenger was identified as a 35-year-old woman from Hanoi, Nguyen. She transited in Hong Kong while flying from Saudi Arabia to Vietnam on November 6 on a Cathay Pacific flight. Airport staff discovered a life jacket and three headphones in her bag at the security scanner, according to Headline Daily.

She appeared in the first instance court in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong on November 7 for theft. At the trial, the judge reminded her that stealing a life jacket could endanger the lives of others and declared the passenger guilty. She confessed that she had committed the theft out of greed and was sentenced to 15 days in prison.

This is not the first time that a life jacket on a plane has been taken home by a passenger. In 2015, a Chinese passenger was brought to court in Tsuen Wan District, Hong Kong after taking a life jacket worth 360 HKD (about 1 million VND) from Cathay Pacific. The passenger was convicted and had to pay a 2,000 HKD (nearly 6 million VND) fine.
