The journey of rebuilding the life of a 9X boss
(Baonghean.vn) - Just because of a moment of youthful rashness, Nguyen Van Huy (born 1994) in Nam Nghia commune (Nam Dan) was imprisoned. However, with the encouragement of his family and local authorities, Huy overcame his inferiority complex to rebuild his life.
Get up after falling
Following the officers of the Judicial Enforcement and Support Police Team, Nam Dan District Police, we visited the pork roll production and trading facility of Mr. Nguyen Van Huy's family (born in 1994), in Hamlet 2, Nam Nghia Commune (Nam Dan).
While quickly arranging the products, Huy smiled and shared with us, "Thanks to the local government's help and encouragement, I am who I am today." Born into a family of 4 brothers, after finishing high school, Huy decided not to take the university entrance exam but to stay home and help his parents with business. In 2015, Huy got married and welcomed his children one by one. The joy just multiplied in that small family.

However, in 2020, just because of lack of thinking and impulsiveness, being lured by friends, the young father violated the law and was sentenced by the People's Court of Nam Dan district to 16 months in prison for "Disturbing public order". At that time, Huy's second child was only 2 days old, everything almost collapsed in the eyes of the young father. "When the court announced the sentence, I regretted it so much, just because of being impulsive, lacking knowledge of the law, going to take revenge to show off to help my friend, I had to pay a heavy price. I went to prison, my wife and children had to be taken care of by grandparents with many worries...", Huy confided.
Serving his sentence at Prison No. 6 - Ministry of Public Security (located in Thanh Chuong district), when he entered the prison, Huy thought his life was over, his heart was filled with guilt and shame towards his relatives and neighbors. However, with the care of the Prison Board, the timely encouragement of the prison officers, his family and most of all, his desire to return to his family, wife and children.
Huy has strived to comply with the prison's rules and regulations. Thanks to his good behavior in March 2021, Nguyen Van Huy was released.amnestyHe was released from prison 7 months early. Besides the joy of reintegrating into the community, he was also worried about being shunned and hated by everyone. However, when he returned to his hometown, everyone cared for him and encouraged him to reintegrate into the community. Gradually living in the love of his family and the care of his neighbors, the young father determined to stand up after falling, to live a useful life for his family and society, and to strive to become rich legitimately.
Efforts to develop family economy
With the advantage of a family tradition of producing and trading Nam Nghia ham, Nguyen Van Huy hopes to maintain the family business and bring more local branded products to more regions. With the encouragement of relatives, Huy has begun to learn about the business experiences of good economic models in the locality and friends, and boldly borrowed capital to expand production.

Up to now, his family's ham production facility has opened 2 branches, specializing in providing ham that meets 4-star OCOP standards and related products to agents, supermarkets, and large hotels in Nghe An and neighboring provinces and cities.
Most of the orders are large, and at times he has to work overtime to meet the demand. On average, his facility produces and sells several hundred kilograms of finished products a day, even more during the holiday season.
Talking about business strategy, Nguyen Van Huy shared: “To further develop and expand the family’s production scale, in addition to pork roll, I have researched and created many different products such as sausages, grilled pork rolls, sour pork rolls, etc. to attract more customers. I also apply information technology and use social networks to spread the brand, increase sales and income, and help many people know about local specialties.”
As a person who “dare to think, dare to do”, Nguyen Van Huy not only boldly invested to increase the scale, quality and diversity of products, but also created more jobs for local people. Currently, the number of workers working for Huy’s family is up to more than 15 people, with salaries ranging from 10 to 15 million VND/month. Most of the workers live in the area and are single or have difficult circumstances.
Not only focusing on family economic development, Nguyen Van Huy is also very active in social work, volunteering, helping people in difficult circumstances. "I myself am lucky to have many people help me to stand up after falling, so I want to help and accompany those who are in difficult and unlucky fates," Huy shared. Among the unlucky people Huy helped was Que Lam (born in 1998), who is mentally disabled and has a difficult family situation. Realizing Que Lam's difficult life, Huy encouraged and hired her to work. Under the patient guidance of the young boss Nguyen Van Huy, from being unfamiliar, confused, and clumsy, Que Lam is now very proficient in cooking and removing ham from the oven. She works very carefully and meticulously and is now able to complete her tasks without anyone's help.
Talking to us, Captain Le Trong Tan - an officer of the Judicial Enforcement and Support Police Team (Nam Dan District Police) said: To support those who have completed their sentences and returned to their hometowns to facilitate their work, reintegration into the communityEvery year, we build orientation and career training classes for the subjects. Through that, we not only help them find stable jobs to build their lives but also advise and support them psychologically to overcome their complexes and confidently rebuild their lives. The case of Mr. Nguyen Van Huy is one of the typical examples.
With his continuous efforts, in October 2022, Nguyen Van Huy was invited to attend the Vietnam Entrepreneurs Culture Forum in Hanoi. Here, Nguyen Van Huy's ham production facility was honored to receive a certificate as one of the typical enterprises nationwide awarded by the Organizing Committee. Not only that, also in 2022, Huy was selected by Nam Dan District Police to build the "Advanced model in community reintegration work" of the district.

Huy's example has contributed to spreading the image of people who have made mistakes and reformed, building the movement "All people protect national security" in the locality. At the same time, it demonstrates the traditional beauty of the nation "hitting those who run away, not those who run back", creating conditions for those who have made mistakes to reintegrate into the community.
