The journey 'Returning to the Roots - Following in Uncle Ho's Footsteps'
On August 8th, the Association of Vietnamese People in Saitama Prefecture (Japan) organized the "Journey to the Roots - Following in Uncle Ho's Footsteps" program for outstanding contestants of the 2026 Vietnamese Public Speaking Contest.

At the Kim Lien National Special Historical Site, the delegation held a ceremony to offer incense and report their achievements to President Ho Chi Minh. In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation, the Organizing Committee, and the contestants of the 2026 Vietnamese Oratory Competition expressed their profound respect and remembrance of his immense contributions; and also reported on their efforts in preserving the Vietnamese language and promoting Vietnamese cultural identity within the Vietnamese community abroad.

The delegation organized a ceremony to express gratitude and honor the support and contributions of agencies, organizations, units, and individuals who have joined hands to successfully build the 2026 Vietnamese Public Speaking Contest and other activities focused on the homeland.
The program also honored outstanding contestants, exemplary representatives of the young generation of overseas Vietnamese who are striving to preserve the Vietnamese language, promote national culture, and spread the image of Vietnam to international friends.

As part of the program, the delegation visited, interacted with, and presented meaningful gifts to the children being cared for and nurtured at the SOS Children's Village Vinh; and donated funds to the Kim Lien Commune Education Promotion Fund.

The 2026 Vietnamese Public Speaking Contest, themed "Vietnamese in the Hearts of Vietnamese People Living Abroad," was organized with the message: "Vietnamese is not only a language of communication but also the soul of culture, family memories, and a bond connecting every Vietnamese person, no matter where they live in the world."
Through this competition, the Organizing Committee hopes to create a beneficial platform to help young overseas Vietnamese improve their Vietnamese language skills, enhance their pride in national culture, and become "little ambassadors" spreading the beauty of the Vietnamese language, the image of Vietnam, and its people.

The "Returning to the Roots - Following in Uncle Ho's Footsteps" journey is not just an experiential trip, but also a journey to educate about love for the homeland, nurture national pride, and awaken the responsibility of young overseas Vietnamese towards their origins.

The organized activities not only carry traditional educational significance but also demonstrate the social responsibility and concern of the Vietnamese community abroad for social welfare activities, promoting education, and caring for the younger generation.
