"There was an April that was filled with bombs and bullets. There was an April of division, of sacrifice, of separations with no date to meet again. And it was also that April that our country – after years of bloodshed – burst into victory..." That was the message sent by students of Quynh Luu 2 High School in the program "Proud of a strip of mountains and rivers"... organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. With many elaborately staged and emotional performances, the students of the whole school went back in time to the heroic days, to better understand the value of peace, of independence and of the silent sacrifices that created the bright red flag. To educate students about national pride and self-respect, and gratitude to the heroes and martyrs who died for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. This morning (April 29), nearly 1,000 students of Tra Lan Secondary School (Con Cuong) performed a map of the Fatherland and sang songs that have been with us for many years. Wearing the red flag with a yellow star, forming a map of the Fatherland, and shouting: I love Vietnam, the students' mood became even more excited and joyful when they joined the flow of the nation towards the National Day.
