"There was an April that was ablaze with bombs and bullets. There was an April of division, of sacrifice, of farewells with no promise of reunion. And it was in that very April that our country – after so many years of bloodshed – erupted in joy on the day of complete victory..." This was the message from students of Quynh Luu 2 High School in the program "Proud of Our Homeland"... organized to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. With many elaborately staged and emotionally rich performances, students from the entire school journeyed back in time to those heroic days, to better understand the value of peace, independence, and the silent sacrifices that created the vibrant red flag.
