Engaging extracurricular activities under the shade of the banyan tree.

(Baonghean.vn) - NTo educate students about traditional values, in the 2017-2018 school year, Khai Son Primary School (Anh Son district) included a lesson under the Tri Le banyan tree as part of its extracurricular program.

Teacher Tran Van Coong, Principal of Khai Son Primary School, said: "The Tri Le banyan tree not only provides shade and creates a beautiful landscape for the village, but it is also a landmark, an important milestone of the countryside over time. In the 2017-2018 school year, as part of the extracurricular program, the school will organize a visit for all students to the Tri Le banyan tree to listen to explanations."

The Tri Le banyan tree, located in Hamlet 4, Khai Son Commune (Anh Son District), next to National Highway 7, is over 400 years old. It stands approximately 40 meters tall with a wide canopy, and its trunk is so large that it would take six people to encircle it. According to historical records, the Tri Le banyan tree served as a flag-planting site and communication point for communist soldiers during the revolutionary movement of 1930-1931. It is also deeply connected to the spiritual life of the local people, becoming a source of pride and a beautiful symbol of cultural value for generations.

Even more honorably and proudly, on December 28, 2015, the Tri Le banyan tree was recognized by the Vietnam Association of Ornamental Plants as a Vietnamese Historical and Cultural Heritage Tree.
