'Harry Potter' was a huge success on stage as well.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child won Best Play at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards, while Ralph Fiennes and Billie Piper received major acting awards.
The play's content is a sequel to the books written by author J.K. Rowling. The screenplay for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was written by Jack Thorne and John Tiffany.
The play beat Annie Baker's The Flick and Suzan-Lori Parks' Father Comes Home From The Wars to win the most important award at the event.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child received a total of 3 nominations, but Anthony Boyle, who played Draco Malfoy's son Scorpius, was unsuccessful in the Best Newcomer category, and John Tiffany was also unsuccessful in the Best Director category.
Instead, the award went to Hollywood star John Malkovich for his stage debut, Good Canary, which centers on the life of a novelist facing illness and marital problems as he is about to sign a multi-million dollar publishing deal.
The list of winners was announced at a formal ceremony at the Old Vic Theatre in London, England recently.
Established in 1955, the Evening Standard Theatre Awards are presented annually to honor outstanding contributions to the London theatre industry. Sponsored by the Evening Standard newspaper, the list of winners is usually announced around November.
