Consequences of Ukraine launching long-range missile attacks on Russian territory.
Experts believe that Russia could retaliate by attacking and destroying key "nerve centers" in Kyiv.

According to RIA Novosti on November 19, Igor Korotchenko, editor-in-chief of Russia's Defense magazine, stated that if Ukraine launches long-range missile attacks on Russian territory, Russia may decide to retaliate by attacking and destroying key "nerve centers" in Kyiv.
Earlier, the New York Times, citing an anonymous US government representative, reported that US President Joe Biden had for the first time authorized Ukraine to use US long-range missiles to strike deep into Russian territory. According to sources, the first strikes deep into Russian territory would most likely be carried out using ATACMS missiles.
Analyst Korotchenko said: "If Ukraine launches one or a series of attacks on Russian territory, a political decision may be made to destroy key decision-making centers in Kyiv."
According to this expert, in retaliation, Russia could launch a long-range missile attack, a large-scale cruise missile strike targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
“This means that on the eve of winter, all other crucial components of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure will be completely destroyed. In addition, the energy lines connecting to the West will also be cut off. This will put an end to sustainable development, the existence of the military system, and the government controlling the country by the Zelensky administration,” expert Korotchenko explained.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that authorizing deep strikes into the Russian Federation, if accepted and promptly implemented by Kyiv, would mean a new escalation of tensions. Peskov also reiterated that President Putin had clearly stated Moscow's position regarding decisions to launch long-range attacks on Russian territory.
Putin has previously stated that NATO countries are not only discussing the possibility of Ukraine using Western long-range weapons, but are essentially deciding whether or not to directly intervene in the conflict in Ukraine.
The Russian leader added that direct involvement of Western countries in the Ukraine conflict would change its nature; Russia would be forced to make decisions based on the threats created in this way.
American journalist and political activist Charlie Kirk wrote on social media platform X on November 18th that President Joe Biden's decision to allow Ukraine to launch deep-sea missile attacks into Russian territory brings the world closer to World War III and demands consideration of the consequences of Moscow's retaliation.
"Biden is trying to start a third world war. This is abnormal. Imagine if Russia supplied someone with missiles to fire at America!" - political activist Kirk stated.
