Defender Ho Van Cuong of Song Lam Nghe An is confident that he will take advantage of his understanding of Hanoi Police to help his team create a surprise.
Before the 2025 National Cup final between Song Lam Nghe An and Hanoi Police, defender Ho Van Cuong affirmed that he and his teammates had made careful preparations, were confident and highly determined to be ready to create a surprise at Vinh Stadium.
Sharing before the match, Ho Van Cuong said that the victory in the semi-final against Becamex Binh Duong had given the whole team great mental strength: “The recent semi-final was a mental boost for me. I also had the opportunity to meet my close friends before the match, so I had more motivation. Thanks to that, I entered the match with more confidence and was ready for the final against Hanoi Police.”
The player born in 2002 played for Hanoi Police in the 2023/24 season before returning.Lam River Nghe An. It was that period of time that helped him understand somewhat about the playing style and the people of the police team.
“Although their tactics may have changed, I still know the strengths of some players. I will try to take advantage of that to best support the team in the final,” Ho Van Cuong shared.
Hanoi Police is currently one of the strongest teams in Vietnamese football, possessing a balanced and classy force, with a series of 5 consecutive wins, scoring 17 goals and only conceding 4. Meanwhile, Song Lam Nghe An is rated lower when most of the squad are players trained by the club itself.
However, Ho Van Cuong affirmed: “This is a do-or-die match, and in football nothing can be predicted. In the semi-finals, Binh Duong was also rated higher but we overcame it. Now, the whole team is determined to bring victory to the fans.”
The upcoming final is a memorable milestone, as it has been nearly 10 years since Song Lam Nghe An has participated in a National Cup final.
